Kelly Thompson

I am enrolled in the dual SLIS/Center for the Book program. My undergraduate degree is in biology from Carleton College. I work in the Sciences Library and, I am also going to be working with Professor Haowei Hsieh on the UNESCO City of Literature app project, which I’m very excited about.

Professionally, I am interested in critical technology theory, library service to marginalized communities (particularly trans-identified library users), plant science and agricultural information resources (especially historical agricultural literature), open source software, databases, and labor rights.

Before I came to library school I worked in organic agriculture for 2+ years. I’m passionate about good food, Finnish sauna, being a good ally, machine-washable wool, enjoying life, social justice, liberation theology, and flatbread of the world.
