I graduated magna cum laude from University of Puerto Rico, Mayaguez Campus with a B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering in 2010. As an undergraduate, I worked as a research assistant in pharmaceuticals, and biofuels topics; participated on several internships with Eastman Chemical Company in Tennessee, U.S. ARMY Corps of Engineers in Illinois, and NASA’s Glenn Research Center in Ohio. Following graduation, I was awarded with the “Graduate Assistance in Areas of National Need” fellowship to pursue Ph.D. studies in Biochemical Engineering at University of Iowa. Currently, I promote STEM studies as a NASA Ambassador, and work on my research, which is the production of steroids for medical applications with the use of biocatalysts.
