I am currently ABD and am writing a dissertation on the virtue of humility. My degree will be in Religious Studies with an emphasis on religious ethics. I care very much about being the kind of person/professor that can help students learn to address some of our most pressing human questions, particularly those about what it means to live a good human life, and helping them to understand different people's responses to these questions so they can live well with others in a diverse society. I am also interested in thinking about how our technological society influences how we answer some of life's biggest questions. I come from a family of educators and technophiles, it's in my blood to think about these things. I could tell you my opinion of Zizek, but that would probably take a very long time since I am on the fence about most things and ... would you really want to read that?
